ANNUAL APPEAL 2020

Dear Friend of SPEF,

Today ALL students and teachers in our district begin the temporary transition to 100% remote learning, lasting until January 15, 2021. SPEF’s COVID-19 Helping Hands Initiative will continue supporting the most urgent needs of students and families in Stamford by bringing resources, information, and relief to those in need. Here’s a glimpse into a few ways we are helping:

Grab and Go Meals

From April through September, over 60 SPEF Grab and Go Meals volunteers contributed nearly 2,000 hours, helping to distribute 434,000 meals. Over the holidays our volunteers are once again back in action.

Home Work Helpers

More than 50 elementary school students are being paired with SPEF volunteers, complementing the distance learning initiatives provided by the district. As we move into full remote learning, free help with school work is more important than ever!

Books Across Stamford

SPEF has been busy giving away more than 5,000 new books to families at schools, community centers, and at Grab and Go Meals locations.
We recently delivered holiday books to our friends at the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, Building One Community, and DVCC. Ho Ho Ho!

TutorU

SPEF’s professional tutors are working with over 100 high school students. We anticipate providing over 5,000 hours of free tutoring during this school year.

SPEF is here to help: As 2020 draws to a close, hundreds of Stamford Public School students are disengaged. SPEF’s Here-to-Help program is assisting with childcare, Internet access, Parent Portal support, translation services, homework assistance, and so much more!

Show YOU are here to help, too. Donate Today! Now’s the time to meet the moment and eliminate barriers to education during this pandemic. Help us bring change to hundreds of young lives by year-end.

PLEASE MAKE YOUR TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION BY DECEMBER 31st! Your investment enables SPEF to continue being a leading provider of educational programs in Stamford.

Thank you for your support.
We’re counting on you,

P.S.  SPEF NEEDS YOU! We are targeting 200 students to support as we launch Here-to-Help, but we know the need is much greater; it will continue well into the new year. Make your donation today.
