Change Is In The Air
New Strategic Plan furthers SPEF’s commitment to ensuring that every child in our community benefits equally from public education

SPEF is proud to share that effective January 1, 2022, the Foundation has adopted a new Strategic Plan to guide us through 2025. The mission and vision statements have been modified to better reflect the community we serve. Additionally, for the first time SPEF adopted a series of Belief Statements that solidify what drives the organization’s passion and commitment.

Mission:  To elevate student success by delivering educational programs and solutions that promote equitable access to quality public education in Stamford.

Vision:  We envision a community in which every student is prepared and inspired to thrive.

Core Values:

If you believe as we do, please continue supporting SPEF through donations, volunteering, and spreading the news about us through Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram

New leadership drives SPEF's mission, vision and core values

Effective January 1, SPEF’s long-time CEO, Matthew Quinones, stepped down from his position to join Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons’ cabinet as the City’s Director of Operations. SPEF’s Board of Directors has appointed Programs Director Lindsay Wyman as the Foundation’s Interim CEO:

“On behalf of the SPEF Board of Directors, I want to thank Matt for his selfless service to SPEF and the youth of Stamford. Under Matt’s leadership, SPEF has experienced significant growth and has had a profound impact on Stamford Public Schools’ students and their families. He will be missed.

However, as we head into the new year, we are very pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsay Wyman. During her tenure with SPEF, Lindsay has greatly impacted SPEF’s programming in support of the Stamford community and its richly diverse education environment. She brings a combination of leadership, passion for equity in education, vision, and creativity to SPEF's programs.”

What Do You Need?
SPEF Can Help.

In October, SPEF’s Here-to-Help program launched a campaign committed to serving 100 needs requests before the end of 2021. We are happy to share that we surpassed that number. Our network coordinators responded to over 200 resources requests, engaging with more than 150 students.

Academic support, childcare, and Internet/hotspots were the most requested resources.

Thanks to our generous volunteers from PLTI, our campaign flyers were distributed and posted in local businesses throughout Stamford.

Happiness Is ...
An Awesome Partner

We are proud to announce that one of our newest partners, SpringWorks Therapeutics, is providing funding for our Middle School Mentoring program during the current school year. In addition, SpringWorks employees have shared their talents by conducting mock-interviews at AITE, participated in a winter coat drive
at Stamford High, and prepped laptops earlier in the year at Stamford High as well.

We are grateful for
SpringWorks Therapeutics
and their ongoing support
during this critical time!
