Announcing the 17th Annual Excellence in Education Awards
Thursday, March 21st at 5:30 PM, Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa

Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate those in our community who are dedicated to enriching the lives of students and families in Stamford Public Schools. Community members, corporations, school administrators, teachers, parents, and other nonprofit agencies will all gather to celebrate the power of public education.

At this year’s event we will be honoring Susan Nabel, posthumously, with the SPEF Leadership Award and the Viking Global Foundation with the SPEF Community Giving Award. We will also be announcing the winner of the SPEF Educator Award, in which educators are nominated by Parent-Teacher Organizations from Stamford’s 22 public schools and the winner is selected by SPEF’s Board of Directors. Who will it be?

Early individual tickets are on sale now for $150.
On March 1st ticket prices will increase to $175

New and Noteworthy at SPEF

High School Mentoring
is in
Full Swing!

SPEF's High School Mentoring program is proud to now span all three of Stamford's high schools! At Westhill High School, students benefit from the guidance of mentors at State Street Global Advisors, while AITE students are paired with mentors from Natwest. Stamford High School students have the privilege of being mentored by professionals at Deloitte. This collaborative effort between SPEF and corporate sponsors plays a pivotal role in empowering students, providing them with valuable mentorship and guidance.

SPEF Receives $20,000 Grant for Tutoring!

SPEF is thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded $20,000 in funding from the Fairfield County Business Collaborative for Educational Equity! The funds will allow us to deliver more than 300 hours of free math and literacy academic support to 60 students, with both one-on-one and small group support provided, depending on specific needs. At SPEF, we believe that our ability to support our mentees with academic support in their school setting will help to close the achievement gap and further prepare them for post-secondary success.
